Given that cities throughout the country are starting to place bands on cell phone usage while driving, I’m seriously considering buying cellular phone headsets for me and my family. I figure it’s only a matter of time before it becomes a law here, so I might as well be prepared.

Plus, it’s just safer to use cell phone earpieces anyway. Let’s face it-driving 70 miles per hour down the freeway with a cell phone in our hand isn’t exactly the safest way to operate a vehicle. So, it’s really in everyone’s best interest to use an earpiece while driving. It should improve our ability to focus on driving properly.

I do have a couple of questions though. First, what affect do these headsets have on cell phone batteries? Do they drain the battery faster than normal? It seems like they would, but I don’t really know.

Also, which headsets are best? And are they all compatible with every type of phone? Lastly, how much should I be looking to spend on a cell phone headset?  Sorry for asking so many questions, but I really don’t know a whole lot about cell phone technology!
