Your Next Choice

I just filled up my online shopping cart with some of the cutest new outfits for this upcoming weekend trip with my five friends to Lake Tahoe. I got some new pants that are black with red stripes and some cute tops to show off the unique design. I have come to love filling up my shopping cart on the internet just as much as I loved filling up the ones at the malls. Now I use a c# shopping cart instead of a metal one and it is so much easier than all those long days I would spend shopping around for that perfect outfit.

I used to have to go store to store and before I knew it my day would be gone. I always had other chores I needed to be doing too and there never seemed like there was enough time in the day, but now all I have to do is sit in my nice cozy house and click around the whole world to shop if I want to, and I can get all the retail therapy I need and fill my baskets to my heart’s content. I know we are going to have such a blast this weekend and I just can’t wait.

I’m finally going to do something I’ve been talking about for years. I’m going to get a tattoo! I know, I know…I’ve said this a thousand times before. But this time I’m being serious. I’ve already started saving money for it.

So, what tattoo am I going to get? Will it be dolphin tattoos? Or maybe a nice Aquarius tattoos.  I’ve been thinking about it, and this is the verdict: I’m going to get a wings tattoo.

Why?

Because I love the way angel wings look. Not only do they symbolize my religious beliefs, but they just look pretty darn cool. I’m thinking a nice set of angel wings on my back with a scripture or something would make for an amazing tattoo. I’m actually going to talk to my friend Jason later today to see if he can come up with the art for my piece. He’s got amazing drawing skills, and I know he’ll make it look perfect.

After that, I just need to save up money for another week or 2, and then, it’s off to the tattoo parlor. I can’t wait! I’ve been waiting for so long to get a tattoo! I promise I’ll post some pictures of it once I get it completed.

My boyfriend told me the other day that we should get our Christmas shopping done early this year. Yes, honey what a great idea! However, I have no idea what to get him. He has this extremely loud off-roading truck he babies. I’m not jealous or anything, but it is his only pride and joy. If only he put as much into our relationship as he does into that truck, we’d probably be married by now. But anyways, I digress.

I’m hoping to find something online for his Christmas gift. Then I can work on saving money for it. Times are tough but that doesn’t mean I can’t still give my boyfriend the gift he’ll cherish for a lifetime, right? Auto and truck accessories for diesel performance parts are the best way to go for my gift choice. Maybe I’ll check out some nerf bars for him, but I don’t know if he’d like that very much or not. He’s pretty picky when it comes to his ‘baby’. I think the performance parts will work best as a gift for him. He knows how to do most mechanical work so I think he should be able to install as long as I get the directions. On the other hand he probably won’t even look at the darn directions, silly men!

Its Halloween and youre in danger! Do you know where your life insurance policy is?

Are you going out partying for Halloween?  If so, you should use caution tonight — Halloween is one of those holidays where there are a lot of accidents caused by drunk driving.  (Sad, really, considering how much foot traffic is generated by young trick-or-treators…  I wonder how many drunk driving accidents involve small children every Halloween?)

The point is that you could go out to have fun on Halloween, and end up with your life changed forever.  A drunk driving accident can kill you or leave you permanently disabled, so consider this: Do you have life insurance and/or disability insurance?  And if you don’t, what would your family do without you if something happened?

Disability insurance for physician and dentist disability insurance is especially important, since these peeps aren’t covered by disability leave.  You can get dentist and physician disability insurance by going online, by calling up the insurance companies directly, or by closing your eyes and thinking positive thoughts.  (Just kidding about the last one…)

Okay, you ready for a really corny ending?  “Disability insurance… Don’t leave home without it.”

No, I won’t really end on that.  But seriously — disability insurance IS important.  I’m just in kind of a funny mood because hey — it’s Halloween!!!

For most of my childhood, I watched as addiction ruined my dad’s life.  He drank and he used drugs; it was obvious to me even as a small child. My mom did her best to hold the family together, trying to appear as the typical family next door.  However, when it started to turn violent, mom said either he checked himself into a Florida drug rehab center or he could leave.  He left, just like that, and for years we didn’t see him. 

Then he came back and said he had been through Florida drug treatment as was a new man but there was nothing new about him, and soon he admitted that actually never looked into any Florida drug treatment centers, deciding instead to cure himself. But he wasn’t cured.  The violence continued and when I was 12, mom packed us all up in the dead of night and we fled to the west coast.  I’m 28 now, and I remember this like it was yesterday.  I don’t know where he is, I don’t even know he is alive.  I do know that addictions kill people; they destroy families and take away self-esteem.  I learned that when I was young:  I wonder if dad ever learned it at all.
