More and more people are using the Web and other environments to personalize their search for current affairs and news. The development of RSS feeds and other ways to personalize news such as Google Reader has meant that users are often left to wonder if they are missing out on any areas of news.
Also of concern among online news media sources relates to the potential erosion of the readership of their traditional media as newspapers and broadcast news. So for example to online news gatherers watch less televised news? Statistics seem to indicate that this does not happen and that in fact the opposite is true. Online news sources lead to the development of news ‘junkies’ who just cannot get enough news!! Or perhaps they are constantly check to see if they are missing some news items within their personalized news feeds!!
