No Need for Sleeping Pills

Watching television commercials for prescription sleep aids always amazes me because not only do I not have trouble sleeping, I could sleep all day long and all night long. Before my head hits the pillow, I am beginning to feel the sleep wash over me. Never one to take pills to solve my problems, I can’t imagine what it feels like to be an insomniac. Sleeping is my favorite thing to do and watching commercials targeting insomniacs made me realize just how many people need pills to sleep.

Taking sleeping pills along with genetic disposition may result in a condition called sleep apnea where an individual stops breathing during the night. Restless sleep, loud snoring and feeling overtired in the morning are symptoms of the condition. Treatment for sleep apnea is prescribed by a doctor. Aided by a CPAP machine and a CPAP mask, a patients breathing is regulated using positive airway pressure adjusting on a breath by breath basis which keeps your airway open during sleeping.  CPAP supplies are available to meet the individuals’ needs including travel and battery operated machines.

Sleeping pills don’t guarantee a good night’s sleep. Sleep machines can help you sleep better and feel better during after a whole night’s sleep.
