The cost of my medical insurance keeps going up. For the third year in a row, the cost of my FL health insurance has increased five percent which means I am spending more and more for the same benefits. My prescription plans changed and I am paying higher co-pays for everyday medication and some prescriptions cost twice what they did last year. My deductibles have increased and I am paying more out of pocket as well as a higher monthly fee.

After this last year’s rate increase, I decided to look for new coverage outside of my employer’s plan. I found health insurance in West Palm Beach that was even better than my former plan.  The plan offered a variety of doctors and didn’t charge extra to see specialists. With an open choice for doctors, I didn’t need a referral to see specialists from the approved list of doctors. The cost was less than the Fort Lauderdale health insurance plan I had in years past. By shopping for better rates, I not only got cheaper insurance but got better insurance by reviewing my options before electing coverage for the new calendar year. I would recommend shopping for better benefits and hopefully in the process you will save money.
