Have you ever wondered why so many manufacturers of airsoft guns are Asian?  Echo 1 may be American, but many others, such as Tokyo Marui, aren’t.

Airsoft actually began in East Asia, which explains why so many established airsoft manufacturers are located there.  Airsoft guns look just like real guns because the Japanese people wanted a way to collect guns without violating the firearms laws that were in place.

Although airsoft is still really popular in Asia, it has also become quite popular in America.  American manufacturers have started competing with Japense companies to make better airsoft guns.  And plenty of Americans use airsoft guns in their historical reenactments, MilSim, and other games that require realistic-looking toy guns.
