A Funny But True Story About Greed

Here’s a real blast from the past for you. It was October 7th of 2001 and Barry Bonds hit one out of the park. You think this is going to be about anabolic steroids, don’t you? Nope, this isn’t about steroids at all. This is about what happened in the stands when his record breaking 73rd home run got hit. Two fans got in a fight over who caught the ball, and they ended up wrestling for it right then and there.
It is easy to see why each of the two fans would want the ball though. That thing was destined to be worth like 1 million dollars or more! So these two clowns who fought over the ball ended up in mediation. That went nowhere, so on they moved to court. And it was in court for about a year and a half racking up huge legal fees.
So finally the judge decides that they need to sell the ball and split the money. The ball goes to auction where it fetches only $475,000 which is far less than anyone predicted. It was certainly far less than the two clowns that took each other to court thought it would be worth. Neither one of them netted enough to pay their attorneys fees!
