One of the surest signs that you are not in the right career for you is that you find yourself constantly feeling jealous about the careers that other people have chosen. You may say that you are excited about your work or that you think that you’re doing the thing that you were meant to do. However, if you are always looking at other people’s careers with an envious eye then you may eventually have to admit to yourself that you aren’t completely satisfied with your job.

The thing is that jealousy typically is a sign to us about the things in our life that are lacking. The jealousy manifests itself as being directed at someone else but it’s really just an arrow pointing us in the direction of what we want. If we can listen to it then we can make changes that ultimately make us happier with our own lives.

If you find yourself listening to someone who is talking about a career that you think would be great but don’t think that you can do (like a golf career, for example) then you may want to stop and ask yourself what the jealousy you’re feeling is about. Maybe you should look into golf school and see what pro golf careers are available to you instead of just complaining about how jealous you are of this other person.
