Let’s face it; people who attend culinary school love to eat. In fact, the restaurants that are located near a cooking school can be a determining factor for students planning to attend this type of college. For example, if I was trying to decide between attending Le Cordon Bleu Boston and going down south to Atlanta Culinary School, I might look at which restaurants are near each school.

Reviewing the options that are around the Atlanta school, I would find that there’s a good mixture of both chain name restaurants and mom-and-pop restaurants to choose from. This is appealing because it means that there will be a diversity of places to decide between when I want to get out of the kitchen and go have someone else cook my meal!

Of course, there’s a more important reason that students should look into which restaurants are near their cooking school. Think about it; this is where you’re going to probably want to get a job after you graduate. You’ll want to spend a lot of time dining - and networking - in the nearby restaurants that you’re hoping will hire you when you’re done with school. It’s no small thing to think about before signing the papers to attend the school of your choice.
