Learning the Ropes in My New Management Position
Posted by NextChoice on 06/12/09 in Business
When I was a kid fresh out of high school I knew that I wanted to be a manager someday. Most of my teachers had said that it was a possibility as I had some good leadership qualifications and they told me that I would have a bright future ahead of me. I believed it at the time, and I made it my life purpose to be in management someday.
Well, that day has finally come as I just accepted a job in a homeowners association management position. I was happy to get the job because it meant that the dream that I had been working on for the past ten years was finally going to come true.
But it also meant that I would have to undergo some training to be at the point where I could take over my role in management. The previous manager was going to be giving me a crash course on how to use the HOA management software that I would need to do my job effectively. I figured that the software would be the easy part.
I am not really looking forward to learning about all the paperwork that I need to do, but I will do it because it is just one little step on my road to becoming a successful manager. I just wish my teachers could see me now - I bet they would be so proud of me.
